Technoforum 2019 highlights industrial digitalisation
The panel on Digitalisation, Digital Industry and Artificial Intelligence has been the first event of the supporting programme of the Technoforum 2019 exhibition held by Expocentre. It was organized by the Department of Digital Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and Zyfra Group jointly with Expocentre AO and the Expert Council on Scientific and Technological Development and Intellectual Property of the Russian State Duma on Education and Science.
President of the Stankoinstrument Russian Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers, Georgy Samodurov, noted the importance of the topic in his opening remarks, and said that digitalisation, additive technologies, and robotisation as modern areas of development of manufacturing enterprises, had become a priority.
Deputy Director of the Department of Digital Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Maxim Mamsurov delivered a report on measures supporting industrial digitalisation. Digitalisation is not an end in itself: companies need it in order to stay competitive. Investments made by the government in the Digital Economy program have been unprecedented. Domestic enterprises are carrying out over 2,000 industrial digitalisation projects as of this moment, he said.
Director of Norilsk Nickel’s Department of Information Technologies Yury Shekhovtsov told the audience about the implementation of Industry 4.0 tools at Norilsk Nickel enterprises.
The panel participants also discussed the use of artificial intelligence for controlling innovations, automation of manufacturing processes, and other industry-specific issues.
