New project of Expocentre, NTI Expo, presented at TASS press conference
A press conference dedicated to the new project of Expocentre, NTI Expo (Research-Technology-Innovations Expo) took place at the TASS news agency today. The project is being implemented with the support of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Russian State Duma Committee on Education and Science, and the Russian Society of Inventors and Rationalizers.
President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Education and Science Committee and the NTI Expo Organising Committee Vladimir Kononov, and Expocentre AO Director General, Chairman of the CCI of Russia Committee on Exhibition, Fair, and Congress Activities Sergey Bednov told the audience in detail about the project, its goals, and objectives.
They said that NTI Expo would become a standing platform assisting in the implementation of national projects which the Russian President declared in his decree for scientific and technological upgrade, education, digital economy, industries, transport infrastructure, and the energy sector.
The NTI Expo annual program includes a series of innovative high tech trade shows to be hosted by Expocentre, and major congresses involving business leaders, key experts, representatives of legislative and executive authorities, and the media.
In the opinion of Sergey Katyrin, the NTI Expo project will draw attention of Russian buyers and foreign partners to the things that Russia already has but still needs to give a proper presentation. It will also promote high-tech products of domestic companies on the local and foreign markets, develop innovative small and medium companies of the country, and bolster their export potential and competitive edge through active participation in trade shows.
The head of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry also welcomed the fact that NTI Expo gives special attention to involving the younger generation in its exhibitions and events.
According to Vladimir Kononov, the NTI Expo project will comprise trade shows and forums to be held at Expocentre in April within the Russian Week of High Technologies and the new RENWEX. Renewable Energy & Electric Vehicles International Exhibition, which will be held for the first time in June, the Technoforum Exhibition for Equipment and Technology for Processing of Construction Materials due in October, and the Forum on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Russian Software: National Strategy of Digital Development due in November. The Chairman of the NTI Expo Organizing Committee singled out among the tasks of these major trade shows and conventions the demonstration of achievements of Russian high tech production, discussion of development of technologies for Russia's digital economy, attraction of new foreign technologies, production localisation, expansion of international cooperation, and a number of other issues.
Sergey Bednov said, for his part, that all trade shows of NTI Expo would be held at Expocentre and described the goal of the project as the combination of organisational and technological efforts for a more effective promotion of goods and services at the shows and their business activity. He dwelt on every NTI Expo rade show and convention including the Sviaz and Navitech international exhibitions, the Russian Software: Effective Solutions Forum, and the International Navigation Forum to be held as part of the Russian Week of High Technologies.
The speakers at the press conference answered numerous questions of the media.
